Kimberly Meyer Biography

A free spirit with an old soul, Kimberly connects with people through music:
the universal language.
Kimberly Meyer is a professional performing artist, singer/songwriter, Army musician, and private music instructor hailing from rural Nebraska.
Since she was a little girl growing up on her parents’ farm near Royal, NE, Kimberly loved singing country music while concurrently being inspired through an appreciation for classical music. Every Saturday morning, her mother would drive her 14 miles to and from piano lessons beginning in early elementary school. By high school, she was an integral player in every music ensemble that was offered, and even assisted with accompanying her peers on piano for contests and concerts in addition to her own solo performances.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of South Dakota, studying clarinet, piano, and voice. While there, she was a member of not only the elite collegiate ensembles, but also played clarinet in professional ensembles to include the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra alongside her professors.
After obtaining her music degree, Kimberly enlisted into the South Dakota Army National Guard as a musician in the 147th Army Band based out of Mitchell, SD. For the first 12 years of enlistment, she regularly performed as the lead vocalist in the 147th’s country/classic rock band and played clarinet in the concert band and marching bands. She was frequently requested as a National Anthem singer for both military and civilian events. Some of her most notable military appearances include: the 2019 PGA World Tour at the Sanford International, televised on the Golf Channel; the 2020 Salute to America Celebration at Mount Rushmore, live-streamed on Fox; a tour to Suriname, South America to perform for the country’s National Day Celebration; and many more. In 2022, Kimberly took command as the unit’s first female commander, a role she still proudly serves in today.
Outside of the military, Kimberly shares her passion for music through teaching private piano lessons to an average of 25 students each week, through writing and recording, and through performing for live audiences of all sizes. With over 20 years of performance experience, she has spent several years fronting various cover bands and acoustic groups throughout the Midwest region. However, she has gained the most traction from her work as a solo artist releasing her first singles in 2021 and singing in venues all across the country. In 2024, Kimberly signed with independent label, United Republic Records, with more new studio releases on the near horizon.
Although her current musical influences extend further into several other contemporary genres, it is quite obvious she remains rooted to her first true love - country music. At any given show, audiences can expect to hear her dynamic vocal range and instrumental versatility as she performs not only original music, but unique renditions of covers, and at least one tribute to our nation's heroes. Audiences feel energized and impacted as Kimberly connects to their hearts and minds through storytelling and inspirational messaging at each and every performance.
